Optional Peer-Assisted Delivery
Abacast Peer-Assisted Delivery is a highly efficient option when using Abacast’s Live service for distributing live video or live audio.
With Abacast audio streaming you can get 128Kbps Abacast-enabled streams for less than the cost of 48Kbps unicast streams. For video streaming get 750Kbps Abacast-enabled streams for less than the cost of 250Kbps unicast streams.
Abacast has taken the security, high quality, and control of unicast technology and combined it with the efficiency of peer-to-peer delivery. The result is a very secure, high quality, stable, resilient network that uses up to 80% less bandwidth, provides higher quality connections, and enables publishers to serve their customers the highest quality content.
With the Live Peer-Assisted Delivery option, all of the features of Abacast Live are provided including smart analytics, a web-based console for content management, and support for standard video formats including Windows and Flash as well as standard audio formats including mp3, wma, and ogg.
